Splash into the Caribbean aboard the “Poseidon”, a catamaran that captures the essence of freedom and ease. As the wind sweeps you off your feet, marvel at the ever-shifting shades of blue that paint the sea. Snorkel through two of the most iconic reefs in the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System — Colombia and Palancar — teeming with vibrant marine life.
For ocean lovers, witness sea turtles in their natural sanctuary, feeding freely and gracefully — a humbling experience far from the confines of captivity.
Then, unwind on El Cielito, a pristine white sandbar where turquoise waters shimmer like glass. Sip on refreshing Margaritas and savor a feast of fresh ceviche and tropical fruits as you drift between sun, sea, and serenity.
- We will meet at the El Cid La Ceiba Hotel or the ferry pier (Depending on your selection for meeting point), where you will receive a quick introduction and the remaining balance will be collected. Your host will equip you with your new snorkel tube, courtesy of us at Safe Tours Cozumel.
- You will board the “Poseidon” catamaran and a guide on board will explain the safety measures and protocols for your cruising experience.
- It takes approximately 15 minutes to pick up the passengers along the way if you´ve chosen the ferry pier as your meeting point.
- After picking up the remaining passengers, it’s a 50-minute ride to the first stop. The guide will give you instructions you must follow underwater, as well as how to properly use your equipment. It is essential to pay attention. This indicates that it is time to jump into the water.
- Your first stops will be Colombia and Palancar Reefs, where you will see the largest coral formations and species for around 40 minutes.
- You will continue to the turtle sanctuary and “El Cielo”, there you will spend approximately 15-20 minutes at each spot. You will be able to see the beautiful starfish that sprinkle along the sandy floor bottom.
- Afterwards, the boat will take you to your final destination, where you will spend the rest of your time on a beautiful sandbank known as “El Cielito”. Here you can relax, the water is shallow so you can sit on the sand. Ceviche, fruits and ice-cold refreshments like beer, margaritas, rum punch, sodas and water will be served by the crew.
- The boat will take you back to your meeting point to conclude your Catamaran snorkeling adventure.

- It is important to be aware that the remaining balance will be charged at the meeting point (preferably in cash). Credit cards may be used, but you will have to pay the added 10% bank commission.
- IMPORTANT: We are committed to protecting the ocean environment and the Mesoamerican Barrier reef; therefore, the use of any type of sunscreen, sunblock, or suntan lotion which could eventually make its way into the ocean is NOT allowed. We suggest the use of long-sleeved UV-filtering shirts, hats, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun. Coral, fish, and all other sea creatures thank you for your cooperation!
- DISCLAIMER: This activity is not conducted in captivity. The probability of seeing sea turtles and starfish is extremely high, but there are factors to consider.
- MEETING POINTS: The tour will last 4 hours for passengers departing from the city center pier due to transportation requirements and 3.5 hours for those departing from Hotel El Cid La Ceiba. This does not affect the time spent in the water.
